The answer is NO. All of your main bonus (stats) techniques can still be carried and get the benefits(stats), however the bonus stats gained from upgrading techniques will not be carried anymore.
You will get an "Techniques Experience Item" for every upgraded techniques after advancing your ninja.
What best techniques should I upgrade?
HP/Energy regen techniques are the best followed by attack/magic damage.
Techniques that has a single stats or two will give more bonus stats when upgraded.Avoid upgrading techniques when you're ninja are qualified to "advance".
Other Upgrade Tip
- Do not use your high rank techniques as your upgrade material. They may give 6 or more value but it takes more missions or recipe techniques compared to 1-4 upgrade material value items techniques.
Ninja Arena Cheats
Use any hex editor apps that are available for android/iOS and change the value of HEX Dword to any amount you want.

If the codes doesn't work, it is possible that your android version is not compatible with the code I provided above.
Fortunately you can do it manually! To do it manually, just use search function in your hex editor app, enter your current Coins and Gems value in Ninja Arena and search for it (choose DWORD) .
If you see a small list of results, example 10. Just edit the value of them one by one until you can find the real HEX!
If you see a large list of result, you need to change the value of your current Coins and Gems value in Ninja Arena by either using/consuming or adding it. Go back to the list and find your new current Coins and Gems value in Ninja Arena to the large list and you can now edit the value any amount you want.
