Restaurant Story: Soccer World Guide

So you want to run your own restaurant? That's great! If you're a little confused then I can help you out, just keep reading and I'm sure your questions will be answered. There are several important aspects to running a successful restaurant: Cooking Food, Serving Food, Keeping Customers Happy, and Customizing Your Restaurant.

Cooking Food
Cooking Food is super easy and super fun!
Step 1: find an empty stove, oven, or grill and tap on it twice to open the cookbook.
Step 2: find the dish you would like to cook (the types of dishes you can choose are determined by whether you're using a stove, oven, or grill) and tap on it to select it.
Step 3: prepare your dish by tapping on it to add various ingredients - once you have finished this step you will need to wait for your dish to finish cooking to continue.
Step 4: once your dish finishes cooking, tap on it again to add the final touches.
Step 5: tap on your dish a final time to move it to an available serving counter where it can be served to your guests.

Serving Food
Once your food is on a serving counter (as explained in the final step of Cooking Food), it will be served to customers automatically as they find empty seats in your restaurant. If you don't have any available serving tables then you need to either a) buy more from the store, b) remove food from existing serving tables by tapping on it and choosing remove, or c) wait for your customers to eat all of the food off of one serving table.
Please note that identical food types (cooking cheeseburgers on two grills, for example) will INITIALLY take up two serving counters, but if your serving counters are becoming full then your chef will combine your identical dishes to make room for new food.

Keeping Customers Happy
You can keep your customers happy by having empty seats for them to sit in and food for them to eat. If there is no room for a customer to sit, then they will eventually become frustrated and leave the restaurant. Make sure to have plenty of food and plenty of seats and tables waiting for potential customers - remember that happy customers will attract even more customers and that's just what you want!

Customizing Your Restaurant
You can customize your restaurant in any way that you like - it can be strictly functional with only tables, chairs, stoves, and serving counters, it can be purely decorative with no functional items, or it can be anywhere in between. To find items to place in your restaurant, open the store by tapping on the hammer in the lower right corner of the main screen.
Once the store is open you can browse the various categories and choose items in each to purchase and place in your store. To purchase an item you can either tap on it and tap again at the location you'd like to place it or drag it to where you want to place it and tap again to confirm. That's all there is to it!

Increasing Popularity Rating
As the owner of the restaurant, your job is to grow your restaurant by increasing its popularity. To do this, you will need to keep your customers happy. Each happy customer will increase the popularity rating of your restaurant, unhappy customers will lower your popularity rating instead. Make sure you have enough food and sitting room for your customers and you will have a successful restaurant.

The Community is composed of everyone who plays Restaurant Story. You can help members of the Community by leaving them tips or writing an ecouraging comment on their walls. To find members of the Community, open the Social page from the Main Menu and tap the Community tab. From here you can view a list of several Community members and go to their restaurant by tapping the Visit button.
Tipping another player will grant them bonus experience and coins and will increase your Star Rating. Your Star Rating is displayed at the bottom of the restaurant you are visiting and can range from 0 stars to a full 4 stars. A higher Star Rating increases your chances of appearing at the top of the Community list. Keep in mind that you can only tip a Community member's restaurant 3 times each day, so if you want to get a 4 Star Rating you will need to help several Community members or Neighbors (explained in the Playing With Friends section).

Creating A Storm8 ID
Before you can add Neighbors (explained in the Playing With Friends section) you must first create a Storm8 ID. To create a Storm8 ID open the Social page from the Main Menu and tap the Invite Friends tab. If you already have a Storm8 ID it will be displayed at the top of the page. If you do not have a Storm8 ID, you will have to sign up for one. Remember that when choosing a Storm8 ID this is what you will give to other players if you want them to invite you as a Neighbor, so be sure that you choose wisely.

Playing With Friends
You can become Neighbors with your friends from other TeamLava and Storm8 games or become Neighbors with Community members you've met in Restaurant Story. A Neighbor is similar to a Community member but you can leave them tips 6 times each day instead of 3 and send them secret recipes as gifts. To become Neighbors you need to follow these easy steps:
1. Open the Social page from the Main Menu, tap the Invite Friends tab and signup for a Storm8 ID if you haven't already.
2. Tap the empty box next to the "Friend's Storm8 ID" text, enter your friend's Storm8 ID, and tap Invite.
You have now invited someone to be your Neighbor. They won't show up as your Neighbor until they Accept the Invite.
Likewise, other players can invite you to be their Neighbor using your Storm8 ID (creating a Storm8 ID is explained in the Creating A Storm8 ID section). To see if someone has invited you to become their Neighbor, open the Social page and tap the Invite Friends tab. Neighbor Requests that you have received will be displayed and you can either Accept or Decline them.

Giving Gifts to Your Friends
To give a Gift to another player, you must first add them as a Neighbor. You can then send a Gift either directly through the Neighbors page by tapping the Gift button next to their name or by visiting a Neighbor's Restaurant and then tapping the Gift icon on the right side of the screen.

Receiving Gifts From Neighbors
When a Neighbor sends you a gift, a gift box icon will appear above the main menu icon on your main screen - the number next to this gift box is how many gifts you have waiting for you. Tap on the gift box to open it and accept or decline the gifts you've been sent. Accepted gifts will go to your Inventory and you'll be given an option to send a gift back to the Neighbor who sent you the original gift.

That should be enough to get you started and running a healthy and successful restaurant! If you still have questions try reading the section below this where I will answer more specific questions that are commonly asked.


Why Is My Food Spoiled?
Food that finishes cooking but isn't moved to the serving table in time will eventually spoil. The amount of time it takes for a dish to spoil is approximately the amount of time it takes for that dish to cook, so if a dish takes 1 day to cook, once it finishes cooking you have approximately 1 more day to serve it before it spoils.

Why Don't Cupcakes or Some Dishes Appear On My Stove?
Stoves, Ovens, and Grills each cook different types of dishes (for example, ovens can only cook baked dishes). If you want to find different dishes, try to think about which of these appliances it would be cooked on and you should find it there.

Why Are Customers Leaving Angry?
Customers will leave angry for one of 4 reasons.
1. There is no prepared food for the customers to eat.
2. There is not enough sitting room in your restaurant (sitting room means an empty chair facing an empty table).
3. The path to the empty chair is blocked by furniture or decorations.
4. The path to the Host Table is blocked by furniture or decorations.

What is the Magic Box?
Opening the Magic Box gives you a chance to obtain items you can't find anywhere else! Tap "Design" in the home screen, then select the 9th tab (Expand).

How Do I Expand My Restaurant?
Tap "Design" in the home screen, then select the 9th tab (Expand).

How Can I Get More Gems?
You can get more Gems by going to the store, then tapping the Add button next to the Gems icon at the top of the screen. Once you tap this Add button, you will be able to select from several Gem offers available for purchase.

How Do I Move Items In My Restaurant?
Items can be moved by opening the Design menu. Once you open the Design menu, tap on the item in your restaurant that you would like to move to select it, then drag that item to the new location you would like to place it. Once you place the item in the new location, you will need to tap it again to confirm its new placement. If you try to place an item in a location that is already occupied by another item, then the action will fail and it will return to its original location.

How Do I Find Items In Storage?
When you store an item (or receive a special item through the Magic Box) it is placed in the appropriate category inside of the Design menu. For example, if you store a table, it will be placed in the Tables category. To place it in your restaurant again simply open that category and tap or drag the item into your restaurant.
All stored items are placed in the front of their categories and have an orange marker in the lower right corner along with a number signifying how many of that item you have stored.

How Do I Sell Items In My Restaurant?
If you would like to sell an item in your restaurant, open the Design menu and then tap on the item you want to sell. On the right side of the screen you will see three icons: the price tag icon (marked as Sell) allows you to sell items from your restaurant for a small percentage of the initial cost of that item. Tap on this icon and you will be asked to confirm your decision - doing so will sell the item. Please remember that all decisions to sell items are final and that sold items cannot be recovered.

How Come I Cannot Cook Certain Types Of Food Like Pizza and Cheeseburgers?
There are in total 3 types of cooking appliances: Stove, Oven and Grill. Owning different cooking appliances will allow you to cook different types of food. For example, you can only cook pizza in the oven and cook cheeseburgers with the grill.
