Fashion Story: Country Girl Guide

GETTING STARTED
So you want to run your own boutique? That's great! If you're a little confused then I can help you out. Just keep reading and I'm sure your questions will be answered. There are several important aspects to running a successful boutique: Avatar Customization, Ordering Items, Stocking Your Boutique, Keeping Customers Happy, and Customizing Your Boutique.

Avatar Customization
Customize your avatar to fit your own style by tapping Main -> Profile -> Change (found in the lower left corner of your avatar picture). You can choose from a variety of different hairstyles, eye color, clothes, accessories and much more to make your avatar feel like you!

Ordering Items
Ordering items for your boutique is super easy and super fun!
Step 1: find an empty slot in your catalog and tap on it twice to open the catalog.
Step 2: find the item you would like to order and tap on it to select it.
Step 3: once your item stock arrives, tap on it again to place it on an available counter or rack.

Stocking Your Boutique
You must purchase counters or racks in order to display the items you have ordered for your customers. Counters will allow you to display accessory items and racks will allow you to display clothing items. Once your item is on a counter or rack (as explained in the final step of Ordering Items) it will be available to your customers automatically as they visit your boutique. If you don't have any available counters or racks then you need to either a) buy more from the store, b) remove items from existing counters or racks by tapping on it and choosing remove, or c) wait for your customers to buy all of the items off of one counter or rack.
Please note that you will be directed to place identical items you have ordered on counters and racks that are already displaying the item.

Keeping Customers Happy
You can keep your customers happy by having enough items in your boutique to sell and enough mirrors and dressing rooms for them to try out their items. Mirrors are needed for customers to try out accessory items and dressing rooms are needed for customers to try out clothing items. If there are no items to purchase in your boutique or not enough places for them to try out their item then they will eventually become frustrated and leave your boutique. Make sure to have plenty of items and plenty of mirrors and dressing rooms for potential customers - remember that happy customers will attract even more customers and that's just what you want!

Customizing Your Boutique
You can customize your boutique in any way that you like - it can be strictly functional with only clothing and accessories, counters, racks, mirrors, and dressing rooms, it can be purely decorative with no functional items, or it can be anywhere in between. To find items to place in your boutique, open the store by tapping on the hammer in the lower right corner of the main screen.
Once the boutique is open you can browse the various categories and choose items in each to purchase and place in your boutique. To purchase an item you can either tap on it and tap again at the location you'd like to place it or drag it to where you want to place it and tap again to confirm. That's all there is to it!
That should be enough to get you started and running a healthy and successful boutique! If you still have questions try reading the section below where I will answer more specific questions that are commonly asked.

Community
The Community is composed of everyone who plays Fashion Story. You can help members of the Community by promoting items in their boutiques or writing an encouraging comment on their walls. To find members of the Community, open the Social page from the Main Menu and tap the Community tab. From here you can view a list of several Community members and go to their boutiques by tapping the Visit button.
Promoting another player's selection while you are visiting their boutique will grant them bonus experience and coins and will increase your Star Rating. Your Star Rating is displayed at the bottom of the boutique you are visiting and can range from 0 stars to a full 4 stars. A higher Star Rating increases your chances of appearing at the top of the Community list. Keep in mind that you can only promote an item in a Community member's boutique 3 times each day, so if you want to get a 4 Star Rating you will need to help several Community members or Neighbors (explained in the Playing With Friends section).

Creating A Storm8 ID
Before you can add Neighbors (explained in the Playing With Friends section) you must first create a Storm8 ID. To create a Storm8 ID open the Social page from the Main Menu and tap the Invite Friends tab. If you already have a Storm8 ID it will be displayed at the top of the page. If you do not have a Storm8 ID, you will have to sign up for one. Remember that when choosing a Storm8 ID this is what you will give to other players if you want them to invite you as a Neighbor, so be sure that you choose wisely.

Playing With Friends
You can become Neighbors with your friends from other TeamLava and Storm8 games or become Neighbors with Community members you've met in Fashion Story. A Neighbor is similar to a Community member but you can promote their items 6 times each day instead of 3 and send them gifts. To become Neighbors you need to follow these easy steps:
1. Open the Social page from the Main Menu, tap the Invite Friends tab and signup for a Storm8 ID if you haven't already.
2. Tap the empty box next to the "Friend's Storm8 ID" text, enter your friend's Storm8 ID, and tap Invite.
You have now invited someone to be your Neighbor. They won't show up as your Neighbor until they Accept the Invite.
Likewise, other players can invite you to be their Neighbor using your Storm8 ID (creating a Storm8 ID is explained in the Creating A Storm8 ID section). To see if someone has invited you to become their Neighbor, open the Social page and tap the Invite Friends tab. Neighbor Requests that you have received will be displayed and you can either Accept or Decline them.

Giving Gifts to Your Friends
To give a Gift to another player, you must first add them as a Neighbor You can then send a Gift either directly through the Neighbors page by tapping the Gift button next to their name or by visiting a Neighbor's Boutique and then tapping the Gift icon on the right side of the screen.

Receiving Gifts From Neighbors
When a Neighbor sends you a gift, a gift box icon will appear above the main menu icon on your main screen - the number next to this gift box is how many gifts you have waiting for you. Tap on the gift box to open it and accept or decline the gifts you've been sent. Accepted gifts will go to My Gifts found in your Main Menu and you'll be given an option to send a gift back to the Neighbor who sent you the original gift. When you use the gift, it will go into one of your available order slots and you will need to tap on the slot to place the gift in your boutique.

That should be enough to get you started and running a healthy and successful boutique! If you still have questions try reading the section below

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why Is My Order Expired?
Orders that have arrived but isn't moved to a counter or rack in time will eventually expire. The amount of time it takes for an order to expire is approximately the amount of time it takes for that order to arrive, so if an order takes 1 day to arrive, once it arrives you have approximately 1 more day to put it into your boutique it before it expires.

Why Are Customers Leaving Angry?
Customers will leave angry for one of 4 reasons.
1. There are no items in your boutique for customers to buy.
2. There are not enough mirrors or dressing rooms for your customers to try out their items.
3. The path to an empty mirror or dressing room is blocked by furniture or decorations.
4. The path to the Cash Register is blocked by furniture or decorations.

What is the Magic Box?
Opening the Magic Box gives you a chance to obtain items you can't find anywhere else! Tap "Design" in the home screen and then select the last tab (Expand) to find and purchase the Magic Box.

How Do I Expand My Boutique?
Tap "Design" in the home screen and then select the last tab (Expand) to choose from available expansion options.

How Can I Get More Gems?
You can get more Gems by going to the store, then tapping the Add button next to the Gems icon at the top of the screen. Once you tap this Add button, you will be able to select from several Gem offers available for purchase.

How Do I Move Items In My Boutique?
Items can be moved by opening the Design menu. Once you open the Design menu, tap on the item in your boutique that you would like to move to select it and then drag that item to the new location you would like to place it. Once you place the item in the new location, you will need to tap it again to confirm its new placement. If you try to place an item in a location that is already occupied by another item, then the action will fail and it will return to its original location.

How Do I Find Items In Storage?
When you store an item, receive a gift, or receive a special item through the Magic Box, it is placed in the appropriate category inside of the Design menu. For example, if you store a table, it will be placed in the Tables category. To place it in your boutique again simply open that category and tap or drag the item into your boutique.
All stored items are placed in the front of their categories and have a marker in the lower right corner along with a number signifying how many of that item you have stored.

How Do I Sell Items In My Boutique?
If you would like to sell an item in your boutique, open the Design menu and then tap on the item you want to sell. On the right side of the screen you will see three icons: the price tag icon (marked as Sell) allows you to sell items from your Boutique for a small percentage of the initial cost of that item. Tap on this icon and you will be asked to confirm your decision - doing so will sell the item. Please remember that all decisions to sell items are final and that sold items cannot be recovered.
