What is the Purpose/advantage of cloning koi you already have in your collection?
Rather than waiting for a koi mate of the desired base or spot colour to appear, which might take a few tries due to randomness, cloning will help you short-circuit the waiting. This is especially so for the rare colours, as the chance of them appearing in the pond is lower.
One other use of cloning is to give your friends the colour combination that they are dying to get, and which you already possessed.
How do you get more pearls? other than buying them, are there ways to earn more or do you get them for level ups?
You can also earn pearls by ascending the current koi you have into dragons, by completing Awards, and completing Collections. You can also gift koi among your friends to complete collections more quickly!
How do I unlock more patterns? All I see is what I already have
After you have collected a certain number of koi from one pattern, the mate that comes into the pond may be of the next higher pattern. So after you have collected a few sutato combinations, and you may see the next higher pattern koi mate appear in the pond occasionally. The limited edition koi pattern "Orijin" is a special case though; all the mates will be of the same pattern, because there is no pattern progression of special patterns.
Is there a certain pattern to unlocking koi species?

How do I deliver gems to symbol. Are there more complete directions?
After you have activated the symbol from the crafting screen, there will be this little slide out panel from the [?] button at the lower left of the screen After you have activated the symbol from the crafting screen, there will be this little slide out "Expand Pond" panel from the [?] button at the lower left of the screen. Tap on that panel and the fish will head straight for the symbol in the pond. But if you steer the fish away, the "Expand Pond" panel will appear again after a short while. Use it to help you find your way to the symbol.
